APRIL 2026 PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. A lady on Next Door reached out to our rescue partner and asked if she could help a kitten. She was found in a bush alone in Redondo Beach, Ca. SELENA was feisty and so small. She really was made to be a house (queen) kitty . SELENA is now ready for her FUREVER home. Meet SELENA, a cat with a personality as unique as her name. She's a master of hide and seek, often found tucked away in the most unexpected corners. Her mellow nature makes her the perfect companion for quiet evenings, yet her intelligence is evident…

In the rescue's own words, as they published it.

How adopting SELENA works

Workin' Whiskers decides every adoption: its application, its fee, its home check and its timing. Everybarn only shows this animal on the rescue's behalf, takes no payment and passes no messages.
