PRESTON — From a Patio Bed to a Forever Home . When Preston first appeared in a Forgotten Cats volunteer’s neighborhood in June, this handsome creamsicle tabby was starving, frightened, and trying to survive on his own. No one knows where Preston came from or how long he had been outside. But one thing was clear—he had known hunger. When our volunteer began feeding him, Preston would eat multiple cans of food at a time, as though he couldn’t trust that another meal would ever come. How many nights had this sweet boy spent sleeping beneath cars or hiding in bushes, wondering where he would find his next meal? Our volunteer put a soft bed on her covered patio for him. It didn’t take Preston long to realize that this little spot was safe. Soon, the patio became his home. . And slowly, the real Preston began to emerge. He is sweet, wonderfully talkative, and absolutely LOVES treats! He would curl up for hours in his comfy bed, and as he learned to trust his new friend, he began looking forward to the time she spent sitting outside with him—talking to him, giving him treats, and simply letting him know that someone cared.
