AUGUST 2026 PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. NUGGET was saved by an independent rescuer. He was found in the sewer by an El Pollo Loco in Compton, California. The poor little guy was by himself and very malnourished. We were asked to help and now he is with our rescue. Meet NUGGET, a young feline who embodies a delightful blend of characteristics that make him a joy to be around. Independent yet loyal, NUGGET enjoys his own company but is always ready to show his affectionate, cuddly side. He's a gentle giant soul with a playful streak, keeping himself…

In the rescue's own words, as they published it.

How adopting NUGGET works

Workin' Whiskers decides every adoption: its application, its fee, its home check and its timing. Everybarn only shows this animal on the rescue's behalf, takes no payment and passes no messages.
