MARCH 2026 PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. MJ and her sisters (FRANKIE and HARPER) were found in a backyard. The nice lady who had been taking care of the feral mama cat was trying to trap her and bring her inside with her kittens. Once the babies were old enough to leave mama, the kind lady took mama and got her fixed. Mama is now part of her family. Kittens came to us and now they're ready to get their new forever home! Now poor MJ has grown up in our rescue. Meet MJ, a lovable feline who embodies the perfect blend of playful, curiosity and gentle…

In the rescue's own words, as they published it.

How adopting MJ works

Workin' Whiskers decides every adoption: its application, its fee, its home check and its timing. Everybarn only shows this animal on the rescue's behalf, takes no payment and passes no messages.
