MARCH 2026 PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. MAY GRANT and her 4 siblings (KAREN WILSON - JOSH RUSSO - ATHENA GRANT - EDDIE DIAZ) were saved from a hoarding case in Watts, California. They were all barley surviving. We named all the cats that were saved from that place after the characters in the show 911. Meet MAY GRANT, a gentle brown tabby from Watts, California, whose quiet charm is as soft as her luxurious striped coat. She carries a delicate curiosity about the world, paired with a shy nature that blossoms with patience and care. MAY GRANT’s story began…

In the rescue's own words, as they published it.

How adopting MAY GRANT works

Workin' Whiskers decides every adoption: its application, its fee, its home check and its timing. Everybarn only shows this animal on the rescue's behalf, takes no payment and passes no messages.
