MARCH 2026 PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. MARIE was found in a parking lot in Compton, California. The independent rescuer that found her saved her from being attacked by other animals. At the time, it was unsure if she was going to be returned to that colony and was ear-tipped. While in recovery, it was discovered that she is a very sweet girl. That's when we got the call. So MARIE has known the street life for a very short time. She has now been living a nice pampered life. As you can see in the pictures, she is loved and spoiled. MARIE loves to be…

In the rescue's own words, as they published it.

How adopting MARIE works

Workin' Whiskers decides every adoption: its application, its fee, its home check and its timing. Everybarn only shows this animal on the rescue's behalf, takes no payment and passes no messages.
