Leo – From a Spicy Start to the Sweetest Heart (Bonded with Willie)Leo is a strikingly handsome tabby kitten whose story is all about learning to trust, feel safe, and let himself be loved.Leo and his cousin, Willie, were born in Silex, Missouri, to two mother cats who are sisters. The kittens were initially being given away for free, so our rescue stepped in to ensure they received proper veterinary care and the best possible start in life. When Leo first entered foster care, he was frightened and overwhelmed—spicier than any kitten his foster mom had ever taken in. But Leo was not mean; he was a scared little baby in an unfamiliar place, and his best friend Willie was crying in pain from a serious eye injury. It was heartbreaking to see how afraid they both were.It took four days before Leo’s foster mom could even get close enough to touch him. She chose the name Leo to represent courage, strength, and the heart of a lion—and this brave little boy has more than lived up to it.As Willie began to heal and feel more comfortable, Leo slowly started to understand that they were both safe. His defenses came down, his playful personality emerged, and the frightened little kitten began…
