MARCH 2026 PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. LEO and PEPPER have had a rough life already. They were from a Lawndale colony of outdoor cats. The people were super nice. The trapper TNR’D 6 cats that were all adults. LEO and PEPPER were too small to be returned. They deserved a chance to be adopted. And the fact that they had 3 other siblings that were killed by the neighbors running them over was the reason we saved them. LEO is now ready to be adopted. LEO is very playful and your typical orange tabby. While there's no hard and fast research to back it up…

In the rescue's own words, as they published it.

How adopting LEO works

Workin' Whiskers decides every adoption: its application, its fee, its home check and its timing. Everybarn only shows this animal on the rescue's behalf, takes no payment and passes no messages.
