From Dallas Animal Services

Jupiter is a male cat who has tested positive for feline panleukopenia (panleuk), a highly contagious and potentially life-threatening viral disease. Jupiter requires prompt veterinary care, appropriate isolation, and supportive treatment to help manage his illness and give him the best opportunity for recovery. Treatment may include fluids, nutritional support, medications to control vomiting and diarrhea, and close monitoring for complications. The level of medical care, isolation, and supportive recovery Jupiter requires exceeds what we can consistently provide in the shelter environment.Despite his diagnosis, Jupiter remains resilient and is doing his best while receiving supportive care. Jupiter needs a safe, compassionate placement where he can receive immediate veterinary evaluation, appropriate isolation from other cats, supportive treatment, and close monitoring throughout his recovery. This pet is at risk for euthanasia due to medical concerns beyond our scope of care. If you are interested in adopting, fostering, or rescuing Jupiter, please email [email protected]. When emailing, please leave a callback number.
