***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** Sweet, timid and tiny Hardee was found in a cardboard recycling dumpster at our local Hardees. Now we can only assume that a little kitten didn't make it into that dumpster all on his own but that is Hardee's past and we are only interested in his future. Hardee has always been a little fella and he is really quite shy but he has a sweet side that time and patience brings out if you're a lucky one. Hardee does enjoy the company of the other cats and find comfort in them so if you have a home with another cat friendly cat that can help Hardee build confidence and trust that would be a really good thing. Hardee would probably feel overwhelmed by rambunctious little kids but an older cat savvy kid that would invest time into building a relationship of trust with Hardee might be just the thing to bring this itty bitty dude out of his kitty shell. ***Update April 2024... Hardee had a spell of not feeling great and had to spend some time in isolation. Here he was given extra special snacks and was handled by his caretakers. Now Hardee, while still shy, is more open…

How adopting Hardee works

Emmet County Animal Shelter decides every adoption: its application, its fee, its home check and its timing. Everybarn only shows this animal on the rescue's behalf, takes no payment and passes no messages.
