From Heartland Humane Society of Missouri

Haley was living outside a Golden Corral restaurant in South County STL. Poor thing was freezing cold and looking for warmth anywhere she could find. We knew we had to help her so a good friend of ours who does TNR caught her and brought her home until we could make space. Turns out, Haley was a colony cat that had been TNR'd a year prior but her colony was miles away from where she was found. How she ended up there, we will never know.Haley had a pretty severe tail injury that was infected, so it had to be amputated and now she has a little bob tail. She's very sweet, but cautious and shy at first. Who can blame her... I'm sure she had to be that way to survive on the streets. Haley needs a quiet home where she can feel safe and loved. Someone who understands cats and is willing to give her the time and space she needs to acclimate and build trust. Once she gets to know you, she's quite affectionate and friendly but does startle easily and will hide if she feels overwhelmed. She enjoys head and ear scratches, and will bump her head against your hand when she's really happy. She's come a long way since being rescued and is learning that humans can be nice and receiving affection…
