MARCH 2026 PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes, and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. ELOISE and her 2 siblings (DORATHIA - MERCURIO) were saved from a backyard in Gardena, California. We were notified by one of our TNR independent rescuers' that there was a mama with 4 kittens living there. They were being hunted by neighborhood dogs and coyotes. So we acted fast! She trapped mama and got her into a safe home with a neighbor who cared for her. We got the 3 kittens and the other little guy went to another rescue as he was trapped later. Unfortunately in rescue no matter how fast we act sometimes…

In the rescue's own words, as they published it.

How adopting ELOISE works

Workin' Whiskers decides every adoption: its application, its fee, its home check and its timing. Everybarn only shows this animal on the rescue's behalf, takes no payment and passes no messages.
