JULY 2026 PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes, and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. EUROPA and her kittens (ATALANA - CIRCE - DESPONIA - ZEPHYR) were saved in San Jacinto, California. The wonderful couple saved them from the very cruel neighbors. So they called us. They are currently fostering them. And we are so glad they did. Meet DESPONIA, a delightful Tuxedo cat from San Jacinto, California, whose independent spirit and adorable quirks make her a true character. With her striking black-and-white coat and those big, golden eyes, shes a master at capturing attention and making you feel like you…

In the rescue's own words, as they published it.

How adopting DESPONIA works

Workin' Whiskers decides every adoption: its application, its fee, its home check and its timing. Everybarn only shows this animal on the rescue's behalf, takes no payment and passes no messages.
