AUGUST 2026 PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. BELLATRIX and her 3 siblings (LILY POTTER, JAMES POTTER and SIRIUS BLACK) were found in the back yard in San Jacinto, California. The owner of the home trapped mom, got her fixed and released her back into her back yard. Mama cat is very well taken care of. But the owner of the home needed help getting the kittens homes. So we agreed to help her if she fostered them until we could get them vetted and put at PETSMART. Meet BELLATRIX, affectionately known as "Belly", a feisty calico from San Jacinto, California…

In the rescue's own words, as they published it.

How adopting BELLATRIX works

Workin' Whiskers decides every adoption: its application, its fee, its home check and its timing. Everybarn only shows this animal on the rescue's behalf, takes no payment and passes no messages.
